Dear Prospective Supporter,

The Vipers Track Club is in need of your help! This is our thirtheenth summer in existence. As the summer quickly approaches, our roster is rapidly filling with the area’s best athletes.  With athletes representing Arcola, Bloom, Bloomington, Bourbonnais, Centennial, Central, Clinton, Danville, Fisher, Gibson City, Kankakee, Mahomet, Monticello, Mt. Zion, Rantoul, Sandberg, STM, UNI, Tuscola, Urbana and Watseka High Schools along with Arthur, Cissna Park, Judah Christian, Mahomet, Monticello, and University Middle School we hope to take our club to the USATF National Jr. Olympics in Eugene, Oregon this July. We are looking for sponsors and supporters who are willing to use the “Pay It Forward” initiative to help our program goals and move forward.

Rather than having our athletes solicit random homes and businesses for donations, we have asked our athletes to decide whom they would like to specifically focus their efforts. Each person who receives this letter will be asked to make a donation to the Vipers Summer Track & Field program in honor of the runner who presented them with it. In addition to the athlete you sponsor, future athletes will benefit from your generosity as well. There is no designated amount of money that we are asking for as a donation. Regardless of the size of your contribution, your gift will be greatly appreciated. Our goal as a team is to raise $25,000.

These funds raised by each athlete will help pay for their meet entries, transportation, lodging, and other costs associated with competition.  In addition, funds will be utilized to help secure training equipment and uniforms for our club.  The Vipers are also looking to start a scholarship fund for our at-risk student-athletes in need of financial assistance. As a result, your generosity can have a lasting effect for many youth in the area.

Finally, the Vipers are very excited about the growth of this program we are building. Our program philosophy is that everyone can, in some way, contribute to the team’s success.  While some athletes can help the team with their athletic ability others might lend emotional support or help their teammates get better in other ways. This opportunity to be a part of our track family is not limited to the athletes and coaches but is open to the parents, school community, and local community as well.

We thank you in advance for taking the time to read this letter. We understand that times are tough and donations are difficult to make. We sincerely appreciate your consideration in our fundraising efforts and any pledge/donation you can provide is not taken lightly and deeply valued. We would love to have you become a part of the Vipers Track Club family here in Champaign County; and be a part of a program that revolves around the pursuit of personal best to fuel team success.
